How does it work?
Go to www.yellowbike.biz or phone the Bookings Desk and reserve a bike up to 60 days in advance. You must have a mobile phone to register and to receive your instructions.
You will be asked to:
- State how many bikes you want to hire
- State when you want them, to check out availability.
- Agree to us taking a deposit ONLY if you damage or fail to return the hired bike.
- Agree to us taking the hire charge on the day before your hire starts.
The evening before your rental is due, or immediately if the rental is for that day, you will receive details of your bike release pin code by SMS. The first 4 digits of your release code will be your bike number.
On the day of your hire, go to the Bike Park, and follow the instructions you see written on the docking stand marked KEYPAD HERE.
When you start to enter your 8 digit release code, the ‘Enter Number LED’ will start flashing green. When the correct number has been entered, the ‘Code accepted’ LED will light up and a long beep will be heard to indicate the release of your bike. If an incorrect number is entered, then the ‘Code Error’ LED will light up red, and you must start again.
Go in search of your bike, which by then will be released from the docking stand. A green light next to the bike will be lit for 30 seconds. If the red light on the docking stand lights up, you will have to start again.
Don’t forget to take your helmet, which will be attached to the bike. Check your bike is in good working order before setting out. If you are hiring an electric bike, turn on the switch and check the meter reading has 3 bars. If not, contact the Booking Desk.
Cycle safely and have a great trip. Staying safe is the key!
To change or cancel a booking
You may change your hire date any time up to and including two days prior to the date of hire.
To change a booking you should cancel the original hire and rebook for the date of your choice. It is recommended that you confirm availability before cancellation.
